The HR Florida State Council serves the profession as the premier resource for best practices to the public and Florida human resource professionals.  We achieve many great things together and also want to recognize those efforts and achievements – whether it is a significant impact of an individual, a chapter or the combined efforts of the chapters within our state.

Chapter Excellence Awards

HR Chapters in Florida that have made a difference in the human resource profession and their communities are being honored for their work.  This awards program recognizes contributions and achievement that exemplify one or more of the following core leadership areas:

  • College Relations
  • Diversity
  • Global Affairs
  • Legislative Affairs
  • Membership
  • Workforce Readiness
  • Certification

Up to three (3) Chapter Excellence Awards will be presented at the council meeting that is held at our annual state conference and expo.  The recognized chapters will demonstrate achievement, success, inspiration and goal driven ambition within one or more of the core leadership areas listed above.

Throughout our State Council, our volunteer leaders dedicate countless hours to Advancing the Profession and Serving the Professional.  Without each volunteer leader, HR Florida would not be a success!  This annual award, nominated by the HR Florida Executive Committee, and voted on by our Chapter Presidents, recognizes a state council member who actively supports, promotes, and develops the Human Resource profession through volunteerism.

Benefits of Winning

  • Recognition at the annual state conference and associated council meeting attended 1500 professionals from around the world!
  • Detailed coverage in the HR Florida Review magazine with a readership of over 12,000!
  • $250 contribution made in his/her honor to the SHRM Foundation

HR Florida State Council President's Award

The award will recognize one exemplary Chapter President who has significantly impacted the performance of their chapter by leading with a combination of compassion, creativity and innovation. It is presented at the 2018 Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL, on January 6, 2018.

Eligibility

To be nominated, you must be a president of one of HR Florida’s 28 local SHRM affiliate chapters and be a member in good standing with SHRM. 

Guidelines:

  • Entries must be received no later than November 1, 2017
  • Only 2017 Chapter Board Presidents may be nominated.
  • Nominations may only be submitted by a 2017 Chapter Board Member, President-Elect or District Director. 
  • Self-nominations will not be accepted.
  • Incomplete entries may be disqualified at the discretion of the selection committee.
  • At the discretion of the selection committee, an award winner may not be chosen.

The selection committee will be comprised of the following:
Council President;
Council President Elect;  
Council Awards Director;
(2) additional council members who are not affiliated with a nominated Chapter (these two individuals will be chosen by the Council Awards Director)

Community Impact Award

The HR Florida State Council will recognize one HR Florida Chapter for outstanding achievements with outreach and impact within the community of which they serve.  This winning chapter will be chosen based on demonstrated achievements in activities, such as;

  • Volunteering
  • Donations of goods
  • Financial donations

Benefits of Winning

  • Recognition at the annual leadership conference and associated council meeting
  • Detailed coverage in the HR Florida Review magazine with a readership of over 12,000!
  • An honorarium of $750 to the chapter selected
  • A monetary donation in an amount up to $750 to a charitable organization of the chapter’s choice; one of which the chapter supported during the calendar year
